Course Outline
This module requires you to understand how our perceptions of and relationships with others and the world are shaped by written, spoken and visual language.
"Distinctively Visual" refers to both visual texts (photograph, paintings, sculptures etc) and written texts (which create a picture in your mind through symbols and metaphors). In your essays you will have to explain the way the images we see and/or visualise in texts are created, and analyse the way they affect your interpretation of the text/s themes.
For this unit your prescribed text is the play:
- Misto, John, The Shoe-horn Sonata
